The holidays are a perfect time to give back to the community. Whether it’s donating resources, money or your time, there are plenty of ways to give back in Hartford County. If you don’t know where to start, check out our suggestions below.

Donate to Food Share in Bloomfield

Heirloom Flats is partnering with Food Share to provide healthy, nutritious meals to local food pantries. We’re looking for donations like fresh fruit, canned vegetables and whole grain breads. You can find the donation box in our lobby until November 30th.

Volunteer Your Time

As you can image, the colder months are a busy time for soup kitchens and homeless shelters. This means they need all hands on deck. Find a full list of volunteer opportunities at Hands On Hartford.

Support a Good Cause

There are endless ways to support a good cause. Run a 5K like the Manchester Road Race that donates thousands of dollars to various charities in the community. If you don’t have enough time in your busy schedule to participate in events, simply donating money can make a huge impact. Find a charity you feel passionate about or look for a local Hartford County organization to help support.

Help a Neighbor Out

From lending an ear to sharing a meal, sometimes your neighbors just need a helping hand. Reach out to your Heirloom Flats neighbors and see what they need help with this season. You might even make a new friend.

Take time this seasons to give back in Hartford County. You don’t have to look far to find an organization or person that is in need. This year, Heirloom Flats is proud to be supporting such a great community cause that helps feed those in need. We hope you’ll join us.
