We’re not sure if parks-per-capita is a real statistic, but if it is, Bloomfield surely ranks right at the top. Our town, along with neighboring Simsbury, Avon, Windsor, and West Hartford, boast some of Connecticut’s most idyllic tracts of green space and public land.

No one knows for sure how Bloomfield got its name, but some believe it’s because the land was flat, fertile, and strewn with wildflowers. Today, the town’s rich agricultural fabric makes it the perfect place to spend a weekend afternoon scouring the market, picking apples, and visiting local farms.
